ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS


Andaman and Nicobar Islands, often known as "Mini India" is a place where PARADISE actually exists. People might think who lives on a lonesome island. But trust me it's not at all a lonesome and you cannot find anymore aesthetic place other than Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The main attraction of traveler's is drawn by the capital city, Port Blair.
Port Blair, is on the eastern side of South Andaman, and is the crowded hub for traveler's for going to other scenic and less inhabited islands.

Accomodation

When it comes to accommodation, beforehand there were not many lodges for stay. People built multi-floor houses that were rented out to traveler's for lodging. Now, Port Blair has developed with many affordable luxurious hotels and even economic lodges, costing from Rs.700 to Rs. 2,000 for a night. Costly hotels starting from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 9,000 for a night are also available.

Hunger Solutions In Port Blair

A traveler can find a large variety of food and might get confused among all the options available. Well, Port Blair is famous for its fresh sea food. Whether it is fish, prawns or crabs everything is available at every restaurant fresh.  


In the whole trip, trying out sea food is must until and unless you are a vegan. These restaurants are also good place for chicken and meat. Restaurants with good sea food and meat are:

Places that must be visited

Even though it is known that Andaman seems to be a small place, but for travelling it is a huge area that can't be covered just within a week. For starters Port Blair itself has a lot of places to visit. Lets start with its small amusing parks like MARINA PARK and GANDHI PARK. Then the famous JOGGER'S PARK. Jogger's park is one of the favorite spot for tourists for from Jogger's park the whole city can be witnessed.


While Marina Park and Gandhi Park is famous for its water sports and amusement park for kids.


Lets talk about the major places for visiting and exploring Port Blair and adjoining islands.

Cellular Jail


It might sound dreadful that the "KALAPANI" we have heard about since our childhood is The famous CELLULAR JAIL. It is the former British prison, where many great Indian freedom fighters were locked up. Its many parts have been destroyed bt the Japanese during World War II. But still it stands tall and upright, reminding us the sacrifices of the brave and great freedom fighters for the independence of our country.

Ross Island: Leftover foot prints of History

Ross Island is a small island where the Britishers stayed with their family without the fear of being killed by the prisoners of Cellular Jail. Also known as 'Paris of East' still holds up the English architecture. This place is famous for its beautiful deer. People also found coins from British era over there. Light and sound shows are organized for tourists to revive the history.


Corbyn's cove , Wandoor and Munda pahar Beaches

The Famous beaches in and around Port Blair are Corbyn's Cove beach, Wandoor Beach and Munda pahar beach. Among all three of them the farthest and one of the beautiful beach is Munda pahar Beach.

Munda Pahar Beach is located on Chidiya Tapu, a famous spot for bird watching is a beautiful place for viewing sunset.

Havelock's Gem: Radhanagar Beach

Next best beach in the neighboring island is Radhanagar Beach. Also crowned as "Asia's Best Beach", by Time Magazine is famous for its white sand, breathtaking sunset and scuba diving.

Sea Walking at North Bay Beach

North Bay Beach is famous for its sea walking. You can visit school of colorful fishes, see beautiful coral reefs, and other marine life forms swimming right beside you. Moreover knowledge about swimming is not required for sea walking and you can easily breathe inside the glass helmets.
